Helping TEDX to spread ideas worth spreading.
TEDx is a community of curious, open-minded individuals who care deeply about celebrating local ideas and sharing them with the world. TEDx gives these individuals a platform, to amplify their ideas on the internet. They believe that their ideas, which are delivered at sought-after events, and distributed via video on the web, will change the world.
With 30,000+ videos from organizers in more than 130 countries, speakers cover topics from sanitation to technological wizardry to deep policy issues too, well, designing boots for beetles.
In 2015, MediaCloud networks had the privilege of providing TEDx Soweto with a high-speed temporary internet connection to provide the event, it delegates and organisers with the necessary internet backbone for its Wi-Fi hotspot and online video streaming platform.
To provide the event with the necessary connectivity and streaming requirements, we installed a temporary dedicated 300Mbps Microwave link between the Soweto Theatre where the event was being held and our nearest fibre enabled microwave high-site. Once the link was installed our team then proceeded to setup and configure the events wireless hot-spot as well as link up and configure the Teradek video encoders that were used to stream the event to the world via Ustream.
This solution offered the TEDx organisers a quick and seamless internet access and video streaming solution to allow them to spread their ideas to the world.
